Island Earth Radio: A Musical Field Trip Through Nature

Songs, sounds, and poems of nature are woven in a pioneering one-hour radio show hosted by Mike Meyer. With 45 continuous years of radio experience, Mike is also a concert producer and social worker who presents songs celebrating our planet and its inhabitants. Folk music, Native American music, world music, and other songs, sounds, and poems capture a deep, spiritual connection to the earth. Water, sky, flames, soil, animals, and human experience flow together in this collage of nature. The first radio show of its kind, music with nature themes and sounds is collected from great songwriters, instrumental musings, various cultures, modern classics, and Indigenous roots. Kate Wolf, Baka Beyond, the Paul Winter Consort, and R. Carlos Nakai are among the thousands of artists connected by nature sound interludes and occasional nature poems.

Please join us in this earth community of celebration and connection when the planet needs this auditory love, compassion, and understanding. Island Earth Radio can be heard on KOCF-Veneta, KEPW-Eugene, KYAC-Mill City, KQUA-Roseburg, KMUZ-Salem, and KXCR-Florence.
